Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:
  • Enabling vSAN on the cluster fails.
  • In vCenter Server, tasks related to vSAN fails.
  • vSAN health status is unavailable.
  • Unable to tag vmkernel for vSAN traffic.


Environment

VMware vSAN 6.7.x
VMware vSAN 6.5.x

Cause

This issue occurs because the vsanmgmtd service needs to verify the client's (which is hostd in this case) certificate with a CA (certificate authority), if the CA is not updated properly on the ESXi, it will fail.

Resolution

Upgrade vCenter and ESXi to version 6.7U3 or higher
