Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:
  • The vCenter Server Appliance configuration fails with the error:

"Waiting for RPM Installation to finish (0% done.)"

  • This issue occurs during fresh installation of the vCenter Server Appliance 6.5 using OVF Tool.


Environment

VMware vCenter Server Appliance 6.5.x
VMware Update Manager 6.5
VMware vCenter Server 6.5.x
VMware vSphere ESXi 6.5

Resolution


To resolve the issue, initiate the installation through ISO installer. See Download and Mount the vCenter Server Appliance Installer.
