Issue/Introduction

This article provides steps to configure the log rotation and move the logs off of the root partition making the virtual appliance more resilient in the VMware vRealize Automation appliance for Health Service.

Note: You should configure the log rotation regardless of whether the health service is in use or not.

Environment

VMware vRealize Automation 7.4.x
VMware vRealize Automation 7.3.x

Resolution

This issue is resolved in VMware vRealize Automation 7.3.1 and VMware vRealize Automation 7.4, available at VMware Downloads

To configure the log rotation for health service in VMware vRealize Automation 7.3.0, apply the security fix provided in the KB Security fix for deserialization vulnerability via Xenon(CVE-2017-4947) in vRealize Automation 7.3 (52326).

Note: Your existing configured health checks will be deleted after configuring this log rotation.
