Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:
After restart of services or complete restart of host appliance, in the vRealize Orchestrator Control Center, you see error message similar to:
 
Server restart is required because of not applied configuration change.


Environment

VMware vRealize Orchestrator 6.0.x
VMware vRealize Orchestrator 7.2.x
VMware vRealize Orchestrator 7.0.x
VMware vRealize Orchestrator Plugin for NSX 1.0.x
VMware vRealize Automation 7.4.x
VMware vRealize Orchestrator Plugin for NSX 1.1.x
VMware vRealize Orchestrator 7.3.x
VMware vRealize Orchestrator 7.4.x
VMware vRealize Orchestrator Plugin for vSphere Replication 6.x
VMware vRealize Orchestrator 7.1.x

Resolution

This issue is resolved in VMware vRealize Orchestrator 7.4, available at VMware Downloads.

To work around this issue:
 
  1. Log in to the affected server using root credentials through the console or SSH.
  2. Stop the vRO server and Control Center services.

    /etc/init.d/vco-configurator stop
    /etc/init.d/vco-server stop

     
  3. Delete this entry from /var/lib/vco/app-server/conf/ldap.properties file.

    com.vmware.o11n.sso.install.state = APPROVED
     
  4. Start vRO Server and Control Center services.

    /etc/init.d/vco-configurator start
    /etc/init.d/vco-server start
