Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:
  • Post upgrade to vRA 7.3, when you login to vRA VAMI page using Hostname/FQDN and go to vRA Settings > Cluster, nodes are missing.
  • When you log in to vRA host through SSH client and run this command vra-command list-nodes, you see that all the nodes present.
  • You have the vRA VA hostname(s) defined in UPPERCASE.

Environment

VMware vRealize Automation 7.0.x
VMware vRealize Automation 7.4.x
VMware vRealize Automation 6.x
VMware vRealize Automation 7.2.x

VMware vRealize Automation 7.1.x
VMware vRealize Automation 7.3.x
VMware vRealize Automation Desktop 6.2.x

Cause

This issue occurs if the VA Hostname/FQDN is defined in the system with UPPERCASE characters. The nodes information will not be displayed due to a case-sensitive validation.

Resolution

This is a known issue affecting VMware vRealize Automation 7.3.

This issue is resolved in VMware vRealize Automation 7.3.1 and VMware vRealize Automation 7.4, available at VMware Downloads
To work around this issue, log in to vRA VAMI page with the appliance IP address instead of the FQDN/Hostname.

Additional Information

This behavior should not break anything else besides loading the cluster tab.
