Issue/Introduction

This health test checks the network latency between vSAN hosts and displays the network latency in real time.

Failure indicates that the network latency is above the normal threshold. The tables included in this health check display the following:

  • Only failed network latency check results. This table includes the failed ping results and other details. The result show a warning status. The yellow sign indicates that the ping latency is above 5 ms. The sign is green if the latency is less than 5 ms.
  • Network latency check results. This table shows all ping results, including passed results, that you can inspect.
To test the network connectivity between hosts, refer to the Troubleshooting the vSAN Network document.

Environment

VMware vSAN 8.0.x
VMware vSAN 6.7.x
VMware vSAN 6.5.x
VMware vSAN 7.0.x
VMware vSAN 6.x

Resolution

Check other network health check items for misconfiguration information. Check the network conditions between the cluster nodes that report any issues.
