To configure the target vmknics in the iSCSI Targets table, select Cluster > Configure > Virtual SAN > iSCSI Targets, or run the esxcli vsan iscsi target set on the host.
To verify if the service is running
/etc/init.d/vitd status
/etc/init.d/vitd restart
vitd = vSAN iSCSI Target Daemon = accepts incoming connections from the initiator
vitsafehd = responsible for opening up vmdks so that initiators can access them.
