Issue/Introduction

To resolve the license overused issue, exclude other virtual machines or objects from your license count manually from the vRealize Operations Manager license groups.

Symptoms:
  • When attempting to license vRealize Operations Manger or other related products, you see an error similar to:
License is overused since it current has 7 members which exceeds capacity
  • Notification event reports:
License usage exceeded its capacity. The overused license is xx. The license capacity is x.

Note: In this symptom, the license capacity is 1 number of Virtual Machine and 7 number of Virtual Machines are included in a license. A license key assigned to a vRealize Operations Manager instance counts towards all host, virtual machine and datastore objects.
