Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:
  • After presenting application through Remote Desktop Session Host (RDSH) running 2008R2 or 2012R2 server, specific applications may disappear from the end user when minimized.
  • The application process still runs on the RDSH.


Cause

This issue is noticed in some Remote applications that are coded in Delphi.

Resolution

To resolve this issue:
  1. Install VMware Horizon View 6.2.3, available at VMware Downloads or VMware Horizon View 7.0.1, available at VMware Downloads based on the View Connection Server version.
  2. On the RDS host machine, import vdm_agent.adm template from View GPO Bundle, available at the same Horizon View downloads link mentioned in Step 1.
  3. Locate the parameter Unity Touch and Hosted Apps GPO and enable the Send updates for empty or off screen windows option.
