Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:
  • Unable to connect to the vCenter Server Appliance Web Console (VAMI) on port 5480.
  • Connecting to the vCenter Server Appliance Web Console (VAMI) on port 5480 fails.
  • You see the error:
     
    • FireFox

      Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at https://vcenter_fqdn:5480.
       
    • Chrome

      This webpage is not available

      Clicking details displays:

      Google Chrome's connection attempt to https://vcenter_fqdn:5480 was rejected. The Website may be down, or your network may not be properly configured.
       
    • Internet Explorer

      This page can't be displayed
       
    • Safari

      Safari can't open the page https://vcenter_fqdn:5480 because the server where this page is located isn't responding


Environment

VMware vCenter Server Appliance 6.0.x

Cause

This issue occurs because the vCenter Server Appliance Web Console (VAMI) is removed from vCenter Server 6.0.

Resolution

This issue is resolved in vCenter Server Update 1, available at VMware Downloads. For more information, see VMware vCenter Server 6.0 Update 1 Release Notes.
