Issue/Introduction

VXLAN configuration in VMware NSX for vSphere 6.x fails
VXLAN configuration in VMware NSX for vSphere 6.x does not complete.
In the vSphere Web Client UI, you see an error similar to:
Configure VXLAN networking VLAN xxx cannot be used. Other VLAN IDs are in use on the specified VDS.
Environment
VMware NSX for vSphere 6.1.x VMware NSX for vSphere 6.0.x
Cause
This issue occurs because NSX for vSphere 6.x only supports a single VXLAN VLAN per vSphere Distributed Switch (vDS). Secondary VLANs are not supported.
Resolution
Note: The VXLAN network is used for Layer 2 Logical Switching across ESXi hosts.
To resolve this issue:
Log in to the vCenter Server using the vSphere Web Client.
In Home > Networking & Security, ensure that you are on Installation > Host Preparation tab.
In the Configuring VXLAN networking dialog box, select the switch to which you want to map the cluster. Then type the VLAN transport.
