Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:
  • Booting a Bare Metal server with an Edge ISO fails.
  • You see the error similar to:

    Incorrect CD-ROM detected.


Environment

VMware NSX-T Data Center
VMware NSX-T Data Center 2.x

Cause

This issue occurs because an SD drive exists on the server and is enabled upon boot-up resulting in the error.

Resolution

This is a known issue affecting VMware NSX-T Data Center 2.4.0.

Currently, there is no resolution.

Workaround:
To work around this issue:
  1. Go to the BIOS setup program applicableĀ for your server. (For example: Dell-LifecycleController, HP-IntelligentProvisioningTool, or F10 during POST).
  2. Choose System Configuration > SD Card Configuration > Disable.
  3. Reboot.
