Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:
When attempting to configure a proxy server in the Linux or Mac OS SSL VPN client, one or more of the following is observed:
  • The SSL VPN client does not use the proxy server that is configured.
  • Using the proxy_show executable in Linux accepts a proxy server IP address but will not close after clicking 'OK'.
  • Using the proxy_set executable in Linux results in the following error:
Segmentation fault (core dumped)

Cause

Although there are options to set a proxy server in the Linux and Mac OS SSL VPN clients, this feature is not functional, unsupported and should not be used. This is true of all versions of NSX, including 6.3.x and 6.4.x. If you require a proxy server, please use the Windows based SSL VPN client software.
