ERROR: DEPLOYMENT FAILED, YOU WILL NEED TO REDEPLOY
Error log is in /var/log/boot.msg

Environment

VMware Identity Manager 3.0
VMware vRealize Automation 7.5.x

Cause

One or more of the Virtual Appliance services fails to initialize properly within the expected amount of time.

Resolution

This is a known issue effecting vRealize Automation 7.5 and VMware Identity Manager 3.x.

Currently, there is no resolution.

Workaround:
  1. Validate if this message is a false-positive:
    1. SSH/Putty/Console to vRA appliance and login with root credentials. Review the /var/log/boot.msg file. If the below error is observed, the virtual appliance deployment is healthy:
Failed services in runlevel 3: elasticsearch
  1. Cleanup the error message displayed in the console
    1. Restart the Virtual Appliance.
    2. Verify that all services come up in the VAMI page.
    3. Edit: /opt/vmware/etc/isv/welcometext and replace the contents with the below:
${app.name} - ${app.version}
To manage this appliance, browse to ${vami.url}

Note: If this is occurring on an vIDM appliance simply delete the two bottom lines pertaining to the error, no variables need to be added

Workaround 2: Redeploy the Virtual Appliance.
