This patch updates the following issues:

  • This fix improves internal error handling to prevent ESXi host failures, caused by sfcbd or other daemon processes.

  • The glibc package has been updated to address CVE-2017-15804, CVE-2017-15670, CVE-2016-4429, CVE-2015-8779, CVE-2015-8778, CVE-2014-9761 and CVE-2015-8776.

  • The SQLite database is updated to version 3.20.1 to resolve a security issue with identifier CVE-2017-10989.

Patch Download and Installation

ESXi hosts can be updated by manually downloading the patch ZIP file from the VMware download page and installing the VIB by using the esxcli software vib command. Additionally, the system can be updated using the image profile and the esxcli software profile command.
