The guest operating system in the virtual machine is slow and unresponsive in an NSX 6.x and VMware vCloud Networking and Security 5.5.x environment where VMware Tools were recently upgraded to version 10.0.x.

This issue is resolved in ESXi 6.0 Patch Release ESXi600-201608001, available at VMware Patch Downloads. For more information on downloading patch, see How to download patches in Customer Connect (1021623).

To work around this issue if you do not want to upgrade ESXi version, upgrade the VMware tools to version 10.0.8, available at VMware Downloads.

Note: VMware Tools is not linked to any specific ESXi build. To be able to roll out the latest key features and updates without waiting for the next ESXi build/patch release, you must ensure to install VMware Tools locally on each ESXi host.

It is possible to automate this process through an ESXi image using Auto Deploy without VMware Tools and using Host Profiles to point to a shared ProductLocker folder containing the latest release of VMware Tools.

• Slow log in/log off using an RDP session
• Slow response for IIS website
• Slow response for launching applications
• Log off from an RDP session does not close the session
