Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:
  • You are using the vSphere Web Client in Internet Explorer 11
  • The Adobe Flash player setting menu opens up after right-clicking in vSphere Web Client
  • The Adobe Flash player plugin version in Internet Explorer 11 is newer than 11.8.800.133
  • The vSphere Web Client works as expected and users are able to login successfully


Environment

VMware vCenter Server 6.0.x

Cause

This is caused by Adobe Flash incompatibility with vSphere Web Client 6.0 in Internet Explorer 11.

Resolution

This is a known issue affecting vSphere Web Client 6.0.

Currently, there is no resolution.

To work around this issue use one of these:
  • Uninstall Windows Security Update for Internet Explorer Flash Player. For more information, see the Microsoft knowledge base article KB3089023.
  • Set Internet Explorer 11 compatibility mode to Internet Explorer 10:
    1. under Tools > F12 Developer Tools.
    2. Click the Emulation tab.
    3. Set Document Mode to 10.
