Symptoms:
After you extend the disk of a virtual machine running Mac OS X, you are unable to extend the partition using the Disk Utility within the guest operating system.
You are unable to extend a partition using the Disk Utility within the guest operating system after extending the disk of a virtual machine running Mac OS X.
Extending a Mac OS X Disk from within the guest operating system using Disk Utility running on an ESXi host fails.
This issue occurs when you attempt to extend Mac OS X versions 10.6, 10.7 and 10.8.
