Issue/Introduction
Symptoms:
- P2V Conversion fails.
- You cannot select an ESXi 5.x host as the destination for a P2V conversion.
- In the vCenter Converter Standalone UI, you see the error:
The access to the host resource settings is restricted to the serverIP addressthat is managing the hosts. Use the management server as a destination

Cause
This is an expected behavior. Unlike in vSphere 4.x, you cannot use an ESXi 5.x host as a conversion destination if that ESXi 5.x host is currently connected to and managed by a vCenter Server.
Resolution
To resolve this issue, select a vCenter Server as the destination. You can then select an ESXi 5.x host from the vCenter Server inventory.
Note: You can select an ESXi 5.x host as a destination if it is a standalone installation not managed by any vCenter Server.
