Patch Download and Installation

The typical way to apply patches to ESXi hosts is through the VMware Update Manager. For details, see the Installing and Administering VMware vSphere Update Manager.
ESXi hosts can be updated manually. Download the patch ZIP file from the VMware Download Page.
  1. Go to Search by Release Name or Build Number or Bulletin Name.
  2. From the dropdown menu, select ESXi.
  3. Search for the release name ESXi500-201112001.
  4. Install the VIB by using the esxcli software vib command.
