Enabling Smart Card authentication with a ThinApp Internet Explorer application (2007858)
Purpose
This article describes a specific issue in regards to Smart Card authentication and the appropriate steps taken to allow a ThinApp application recognize it. If you experience the above symptoms, consult the sections below.
Resolution
This issue has been fixed in ThinApp version 4.7. It can be fixed by adding specific entries into the package.ini file before running the build.bat script.
This procedure only works with ThinApp 4.7 and above. Before building a ThinApp version of Internet Explorer, put these entries into the package.ini file in the section labeled [BuildOptions]:
VirtualizeExternalOutOfProcessCOM=0
ForcedVirtualLoadPaths=%SystemSystem%\winscard.dll
