ComputeResourceSummary.totalMem Returns a Negative Value

Details

The VMware Infrastructure (VI) API and Managed Object Browser (MOB) both display negative values for ESX Server host total memory, ComputeResourceSummary.totalMem , when the system memory is 8Gb or more.

Solution

If your display indicates a negative value for your ESX Server host's total memory in ComputeResourceSummary.totalMem , even though the actual memory is 8 GB or more, upgrade to VirtualCenter version 2.5 or later.
