VirtualCenter 2.0.1 Issues with Certain Norwegian Locales
Details
On certain Norwegian Locales, VirtualCenter does not start up
and fails with locale initialization. Also, clients from Norwegian
locale fail to connect to the VirtualCenter server.
This is an issue because certain locale data files contain an invalid character for the Norwegian locale name. This has been fixed in the localized 2.0.1 version, and in the 2.0.1 Patch 1 (Build 33643) English version.

Solution
If you install VirtualCenter Server or use a client either of
which are installed in the Norwegian version of Windows, perform
the following steps:
-
Open the file <server-install-dir>/locale/loc2iso.vlcl in Notepad.
-
Choose Save As.
-
In the Encoding drop-down list at the bottom of the Save As dialog, change UTF-8 to ANSI.
-
Change the file name to loc2iso.txt.
-
In the Explorer file browser, delete or rename loc2iso.vlcl.
-
Rename loc2iso.txt to loc2iso.vlcl.
Alternatively, you can use the German version of VirtualCenter
2.0.1 (when available) and use it in the Norwegian locale. It will
work in English and include this fix.
