License Server Writes Log Data to User Directory (8019937)

Details

Why does the license server write log data to the directory of the user that installed the product?

Changes to the license server installation process configure the server so log data is written to the user directory of the user who installed the product. Log data should be written to the local system account's temp directory, rather than to a user account's temp directory.

Solution

This behavior should not create problems with the license server, but for best results, use the VMware License Server Tools (LMTOOLS) utility to change the license log directory to the local system account's temp directory.  You can set the log path from the Config Services tab.
