"Error - Not Connected, Connection lost" or "VM_E_DISCONNECT" Error when Accessing VMware Management Interface

I am trying to connect to the VMware Management Interface and I get an "Error - Not Connected, Connection lost" message or a "VM_E_DISCONNECT" error. What is wrong?

Solution

You may have too many virtual machines running and too many VMware Remote Console and VMware Management Interface connections on the host. Close some remote console or management interface sessions and try again. You cannot have more than 10 remote consoles connected to virtual machines on the host at one time. This can also happen when your GSX Server host is heavily loaded. Try closing some applications of otherwise shift the load off the host machine if possible.
