Details

Note IE support on Vista is experimental.  For further information on experimental support, see http://www.vmware.com/support/policies/experimental.html

The following error might be returned if you are accessing Lab Manager's user interface on a Web browser running on Microsoft Windows Vista.

Bad Handle 0x7B4, the handle is invalid

Solution

To work around this error, disable User Account Control (UAC):
  1. Click Start, and then click Control Panel.

  2. In Control Panel, click User Accounts.

  3. In the User Accounts window, click User Accounts.

  4. In the User Accounts tasks window, click Turn User Account Control off.

  5. If UAC is currently configured in Admin Approval Mode, the User Account Control message appears. Click Continue.

  6. To disable UAC, clear the Use User Account Control (UAC) to help protect your computer check box.

  7. Click OK.

  8. Click Restart Now to apply the change right away, or click Restart Later and close the User Accounts tasks window.

If turning off UAC is not an option, try using Firefox as the browser.  Firefox does not have this issue.  Firefox support is experimental for Lab Manager 2.4.x.
