Dell OpenManage 5.0 Reports Unexpected Sense Event Logs

Dell OpenManage 5.0 reports the following events in the OpenManage alert log and in /var/log/messages:

Aug 28 14:57:40 sust005 Server Administrator: Storage Service EventID: 2334 Controller event log: Unexpected sense: PD 00(e1/s0), CDB: 12 80 00 00 ff 00, Sense: 70 00 05 00 00 00 00 0a 00 00 00 00 24 00 00 c0 00 01: Controller 0 (PERC 5/iIntegrated)

The event logs do not appear to affect system performance or stability.

Solution

VMware and Dell are currently working together to identify the root cause of the messages.
