Cloning a Diskless Virtual Machine Using VI Client Results in the Error Message, "A file was not found"

Details

When you try to clone a diskless virtual machine using VI Client, the following error message appears:
error:- "a file was not found"

Solution

Because the virtual machine has no virtual disk, VirtualCenter could not determine the primary datastore of the virtual machine and displayed the error message.

To work around this issue, add a hard disk to the virtual machine before you clone it.

This issue will be fixed in a future release of VirtualCenter.
