Preupgrade.pl Script Triggers a Warning When Run on ESX Server 3.0.x System

Details

When running the preupgrade.pl script to upgrade ESX Server 3.0.x to a later version, I get an error message.
 
The error may appear similar to:
 
This version of ESX is not supported by this script.
 
Is anything wrong?

Solution

Because the preupgrade.pl script does not apply to ESX Server 3.0.x , you shouldn't use it on ESX Server 3.0.x systems. You can use it only on ESX Server 2.x systems.
