VMware Registration Service May Crash when Selecting Disk Device of Imported VMC or SV2I Virtual Machine

Details

When selecting a disk device in the Virtual Machine Settings dialog of an imported Microsoft Virtual PC ( .vmc) or Symantec LiveState (.sv2i) virtual machine, the VMware Registration Service may crash.

Solution

This is a known issue for VMware Server 1.0.
