Error 1720 occurs during install
Details
The following error can occur while you install the server component:
Error 1720.There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A script required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personnel or package vendor.
This error can be followed by a 1620 fatal error.
Solution
Inspect the Application Event log on the server for the following:
Event Type: Error Event Source: MsiInstaller Event Category: None Product: VMware Lab Manager -- Error 1720.There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A script required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personnel or package vendor. Custom action StoreLocalIPAddressInProperty script error -2147024894, WshShell.RegRead: Unable to open registry key "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\VMware, Inc.\VMware Lab Manager\IP_Selected" for reading. Line 348, Column 5
If the error above is present, ensure your server has only one active network adapter, and that the network adapter meets the installation requirements (for example, it has a static IP address). Disable any other network adapters.
Once installation is complete, you may enable any network adapters that were disabled
