Solution
This has been seen in situations where some sort of remote control software (such as PCAnywhere) is installed inside a Windows virtual machine. Try the following:
- Uninstall VMware Tools.
- Uninstall the remote control software.
- Reinstall VMware Tools.
- Reinstall the remote control software.
