Programming API Does Not Always Report Failure of VixVM_CopyFileFromGuestToHost( )

Details

The Programming API function VixVM_CopyFileFromGuestToHost( ), when used with Windows guest operating systems, incorrectly reports success in certain situations where the copy operation did not complete because the user did not have read permission for a file in the Windows guest. With Linux guests, however, the same kind of failure results in an error.

Solution

This is a known issue in the Programming API for VMware Server 1.0.
