Installing the Managed Server Agent for ESX Server Fails (2770040)


While running the installation for the Managed Server Agent for ESX Server, the installation either fails to run or appears to run but does not prompt for user input for various installation options.
WinSCP might have been used to transfer the installation file to the ESX Server host.


The installation file might be corrupt.
Run a checksum on the installation file. For example:
[root@esxhost]# md5sum VMware-labmanager-agent-esx-2.5.3-666.bin
d139be14b84308ff2d7891d9d7f8fbdc VMware-labmanager-agent-esx-2.5.3-666.bin
If the file does not match this checksum, the file is corrupt. Transfer the file again using binary FTP. Please consult the checksum documented for the specific version of your product.
