VIX_PROPERTY_VM_TOOLS_STATE Is Inconsistent with Power State after Calling VixVM_WaitForToolsInGuest( ) and VixVM_PowerOff( ) (2667476)

Details

A Programming API script calls VixVM_WaitForToolsInGuest( ), then VixVM_PowerOff( ). After VixVM_PowerOff( ) returns, the VMware Tools state shown by VIX_PROPERTY_VM_TOOLS_STATE is VIX_POWERSTATE_TOOLS_RUNNING. This is unexpected.

Solution

This is a known issue in the Programming API for VMware Server 1.0.
