Programming API May Crash if Client Uses an Invalid Host Handle

Details

The Programming API function VixHost_Connect( ) results in a host handle that is used for subsequent function calls, such as VixVM_Open( ). If the call to VixHost_Connect( ) fails, the host handle is invalid. Using an invalid handle after failing to connect to the host may cause the API library to crash.

Solution

This is a known issue for the Programming API for VMware Server 1.0.
