After an ESX host fails HA does not restart after rebooting (2300)

Details

My host failed, then booted successfully. Why do I get an High Availability (HA) error on the host, and why does the HA service fail to start up?

Solution

Sometimes when a host boots up after a failure, there is a problem rejoining the rest of the cluster and an error is reported on the HA service on the host.

To work around this issue, use the ReconfigureHA task on the host to correctly configure the HA service on the host.
