Link Never Comes Up on the HBA When I Attempt to Boot from SAN Using LPe1150 (2288)

When I attempt to boot from SAN using LPe1150, the link never comes up on the HBA. What's going on?

Solution

The BootFromSan installation is trying to load the lpfcdd_7xx driver instead of the lpfcdd_732 driver required for 4GB cards. Therefore the link never comes up on the host bus adapter.

To work around this problem, do not attempt to use BootFromSan on a device using an LPe1150 as the HBA.
