Auto-Start Is Not Run When Manually Restarting a Host in Maintenance Mode (2214)
Solution
Workaround 1:
- In vCenter Server, right-click the ESX/ESXi host and click Exit Maintenance Mode.
- Open an SSH session to the ESX/ESXi host. For more information, see Connecting to an ESX host using a SSH client (1019852) or Using Tech Support Mode in ESXi 4.1 and ESXi 5.x (1017910).
- Run this command:
/sbin/vmware-autostart.sh start
Workaround 2:
- Manually restart the virtual machines or use the Configuration > Virtual Machine Startup/Shutdown option in VirtualCenter. This option allows you to control the automatic startup/shutdown of virtual machines.
