VirtualCenter License Server Settings Can Override ESX Server Host Settings (2212)

Details

Why did my ESX Server settings change after I changed my VirtualCenter license settings?

Solution

VirtualCenter's configuration provides an option that allows individual host settings to be overwritten or left unchanged when a new host is added to the inventory. If you do not check the setting to leave host settings unchanged, VirtualCenter might override or change host settings when VirtualCenter is configured to use a different license server.

To work around this issue, you might need to reconfigure the host's license settings after a VirtualCenter's license server configuration changes.

Note: This issue is resolved in the releases of ESX Server 3.0.1 and VirtualCenter 2.0.1.
