Email is not being sent when a task is forwarded by a conditional branch

Symptoms

  • Email is not being sent when a task is forwarded by a conditional branch

Resolution

There is no configurable way to automatically generate email notifications from tasks assigned by a conditional branch.

This workaround this issue and achieve this functionality:

Caution: VMware recommends that you test the workaround in a development environment before implementing on a live system to ensure that desired functionality is achieved.
  1. Go to Infra Admin > Workflow Template and select the affected workflow.
  2. Within the workflow, open one of the tasks that is activated when the conditional branch selects it and forwards it to a certain group based on customer location.
  3. Take over the task if needed, and then click Internal button.
  4. From the Forward To list, select any officer, and select Email. Click OK
  5. Repeat steps 1-4 for each task within the workflow that is activated based on the customer location conditional branch.
  6. Save the workflow.

When the conditional branch forwards the task to the selected group, the members should all receive emails notifying them of this activity.
