Virtual Machine Cloning and Customization Operations Fail on Virtual Machines with Two Network Adapters Connected to One Network (2200)

Why did my attempt to clone a virtual machine with two network adapters fail?

Solution

If a virtual machine has two or more network adapters connected to the same network, the new customization specification configuration wizard fails to create a customization specification with two or more network adapters during cloning. This results in the following error message:

Two conflicting values have been specified-number of NICs and number of NIC settings(spec.nicSetting)
 
To work around this issue, connect only one virtual machine network adapter to each network before you clone and customize.
 
Note: This issue is fixed in VirtualCenter 2.0.1.
