Error Message: SCSI command to read VPROD page failed with status = I/O error

Details

On some storage devices that present themselves as SCSI devices, if they are not SCSI targets, the SCSI inquiry command is not supported and the user will see the following warning message.

WARNING: LinSCSI: SCSIGetDiskId:577: SCSI command to read VPROD page failed with status = I/O error. Could not obtain disk id for vmhbax:x:x:x

This warning message is expected and is not an indication of any problem.

Solution

Because the warning message does not indicate an error, no action is necessary.
