Real-Time Statistics Data Has Gaps for the Host in VirtualCenter 1.x After Being Managed by VirtualCenter 2.0 (2198)

Details

I moved an ESX Server 2.x host from being managed by VirtualCenter 2.0 to being managed by VirtualCenter 1.x. Now there are gaps in the real-time statistics for this host in VirtualCenter 1.x. How can I fix this problem?

Solution

If a managed host is only disconnected (not removed) from the VirtualCenter 2.0 inventory, and then added to the VirtualCenter 1.x inventory, a process collecting statistics for VirtualCenter 2.0 competes with one from VirtualCenter 1.x. This results in gaps in the host statistics on VirtualCenter 1.x.

If you want to revert from VirtualCenter 2.0 to VirtualCenter 1.x management of an ESX Server 2.x host, then remove (not just disconnect) the host from the VirtualCenter 2.0 inventory before adding it to VirtualCenter 1.x inventory.
