Why didn't my virtual machine host settings change take effect?
Solution
In the virtual machine Startup/Shutdown host configuration settings, when editing the shutdown settings for any given virtual machine, if only the shutdown action setting of the virtual machine is changed, and no shutdown delay value is mentioned, a UI exception is displayed and the change will not take effect.
Workaround: When modifying the shutdown action of a virtual machine, a value for the shutdown delay should also be specified.
