Incorrect Input Text in Configuration Wizard Can Cause Unhandled Exceptions

Details

I get an error message that reads "Input string was not correct format" when I use one of the configuration wizards. What's causing this?

Solution

Many of the free-form input text boxes in the configuration wizards have only limited validation of user input. Please review the documentation for the wizard you are using to find out what the limitations are on the individual field input. Avoid entering non-valid input, such as names with special characters (such as ?) and invalid IP addresses (such as 255.256.888.999).
