Why can't I log in to the VI Client?

Solution

This is an environment problem. You might not have access permission to the authentication user.

To access the authentication user:

  1. In your Windows system, bring up your control panel, and open Administrative Tools.
  2. Start Local Security Policy.
  3. Click Local Policies.
  4. Select User Rights Assignment.
  5. Open Act as part of the operating system.
  6. Set either your current login or the Administrators group as having this authority (assuming that your current login is a local administrator).
  7. Reboot your system.

At this point you should be able to log on with no problems.
