Floppy and CD-ROM Settings Are Dimmed When I Switch Between Other Hardware Options (2179)

How can I make my floppy and CD-ROM settings active again after they become unavailable when I switch to other hardware options?

Solution

Floppy and CD-ROM settings appear dimmed when a floppy device is set to connect to a client device and the Connected check box is selected. If you toggle between the other hardware devices and come back to the floppy device tab, all the settings are unavailable.

To work around this problem, close the Virtual Machine Properties window and re-open it.
