When I install VMware Tools from a VI Client, how do I eject a CD-ROM from a Solaris guest operating system?

Solution

When you install VMware Tools from a VI Client, the installation does not force a CD-ROM ejection from inside a Solaris guest operating system.

To solve this problem,use one of the following two options before you install VMware Tools:

  • Manually unmount the CD-ROM from the Solaris guest operating system, or
  • Use the mount/unmount options from the Solaris guest operating sytem.
