Graphical Installer Might Fail to Load on IBM x445 Server with RSAII Adapter (2148)

I get an error when I attempt to load the ESX Server installer in graphical mode. What should I do?

Solution

When you attempt to load the ESX Server installer in graphical mode with the RSA II interface, the installer might crash with an error which looks like: 
1...2...3...4...5.... X server started successfully 
(mini-wm:110): Gtk-WARNING **: cannot open display: :1

To work around this problem, use the text installation mode by specifying esx text at the boot prompt.
